The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today that the Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for consumers in all cities rose by 0.9% on a seasonally adjusted basis in June and 0.6% in May. This is the largest one-month change since the index rose 1.0% in June 2008. In the past 12 months, the All Projects Index increased by 5.4% before seasonal adjustment; this was the largest 12-month increase since the 5.4% increase during the period ended August 2008.
