Located near the Central District Seattle, Washington, this 800-square-foot house is a backyard cottage that offers many things. It not only has enviable stylish lines and built-in storage space, but the entire design integrates indoor and outdoor to match the active lifestyle of customers. Designed by Seattle-based Fivedot in collaboration with contractors Hanson Construction and Equilibria Engineering, Urban The oasis is L-shaped to make use of the central courtyard, accessible from the main living area and bedroom.
This house is a single-storey building, which can meet the needs of couples who grow older, while also allowing them to enjoy high ceilings.exposed wood The beams draw sight to the ceiling and provide a spacious feel for small places.
Large windows and a wall-to-wall retractable door fill the room with natural light.The door opened patio, Which blurs the boundaries between inside and outside. After stepping out, the courtyard is equipped with a seating area, a fire pit, a separate dining area and enough space for guests or additional seating.
The garage provides additional storage space for outdoor equipment and workshop space. On the exterior wall, the designer included a mini climbing wall, which can also be used as a roof passage to express the couple’s passion for the sport.
Entering from the alley, the landscaped courtyard welcomes guests with plants and wooden walkways.The front door, otherwise completely hidden in the dark Burning fir (Scorched Japanese Cypress) siding, with colorful welcome mats and eye-catching accent colors around the frame.
For lovers who love nature, the space uses natural materials, such as Oregon White oak cabinets and landmark walls for showers. The project reflects the values of simple living and provides the added benefit of low maintenance requirements.
