Wouldn’t building more houses solve the problem of job and housing shortages? Why should it be resolved by the federal government? The demand is there, but capitalism has no supply: economics
The housing shortage seems to be more related to market prices and material costs and the backlog of receiving materials. The middle and lower classes cannot afford today’s rent, and purchases are basically impossible. The government intervenes in rent control and low-income housing. However, IMO, the government is not responsible for letting contractors build houses and sell them at a loss. The labor market is urgently needed, but it does not exist. Many companies have reduced working hours and extended working hours because they cannot find labor.
