Federal Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday visited the cell where Hindu Mahasabha leader Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was imprisoned in Cellular Prison in Port Blair and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Under the leadership of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahutsav”, earlier today he paid a flower tribute to the freedom fighters in the cell prison of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. At the venue, Union Minister hailed Veer Savarkar.
Shah is on a three-day visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from October 15 to October 17.
Tomorrow Shah will conduct an aerial survey of Rani Laxmibai Island, Shahid Dwip Ecotourism Project, Swaraj Dwip Water Airport and other development projects. It will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island.
On October 17, Shah will attend review meetings on security and development in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
