Matt Reeves’ new promo drops ‘The Batman’ for 2021 DC FanDome

Director Matt Reeves’ movie The Batman drops the curtains on the 2021 DC FanDome as it unveils an explosive, action-packed trailer for Robert Pattinson’s superhero movie.

The online fan event was a packed DC event where it offered glimpses of many of its notable titles, including the series “Black Adam”, “Shazam! Fury of the Gods”, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and “Peacemaker”.

The new trailer gives more details about the movie’s story, Batinson’s Batman, Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman and many other main characters.

It promises a very dark and violent iteration of the iconic superhero, previously played by the likes of Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Christina Bell and Ben Affleck.

The trailer gives a glimpse into Paul Dano’s The Riddler, although the character’s face has remained hidden.

There have been a lot of moments where Pattinson is seen taking his opponents in hand to hand the fight, and in one scene, walking into a room while constantly shooting.

Pattinson and Kravitz joined Reeves in a panel discussion prior to the trailer’s release.

Pattinson said this version of the Caped Crusader is someone who is “a bit out of control.”

“He doesn’t have the same amount of control over his character, like deciding between when he’s Batman and when Bruce isn’t very clear…in other kinds of iterations, he really knows what he’s doing, when he’s wearing the hood,” the actor said.

Kravitz said that she wanted to make a “real human being” by facing Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.

“I understand the gravity of a character like that and what it means to a lot of people, but what I felt was really important was to really focus on the story we’re telling in this moment, and try to create a real human being.

“I don’t, I don’t want her to be an idea. I want her to be a real human in a real situation in a real city trying to survive and react to her pain. So I really focused on this very story at this very moment in this woman’s life.”

Reeves said the movie is very different from the character’s other original stories.

“We’ve seen a lot of the original stories,” he said. “One of the places we weren’t was to establish it the way[Frank Miller the comic]did in the first year.”

“Batman” will also feature Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Barry Keoghan, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell.

The film will be released in the United States on March 4, 2022.
