Instagram surprises users with new features before the start of the new year. The latest addition is the profile embed feature where users will get a mini version of their profile that they can embed on third party websites or link to other users’ profiles just as they embed a particular post, without mentioning the username.
Other year-end features that Instagram is rolling out are the play mode for Instagram Stories and Reels’ visual responses. In this playback feature, users can collect up to 10 stories to share with their followers to show their year flashback. Reels Visual Replies allows you to respond to comments with a Reels video of up to 60 seconds.
Instagram profile embed feature
Adam Mosseri announced the Instagram profile embed feature on Friday via a Twitter video. Mosseri mentioned in his tweet that the Meta-owned company in an effort to expand Instagram’s embedding feature for photos and videos will now allow it to embed a mini version of its profile on a website.
The latest feature which will provide a peek of a particular Instagram handle on a third party handle is available in the US at the moment. With this feature, creators, brands and business account holders will highlight their profiles on third-party websites. The company has not yet shared the timeline for its global rollout.
Instagram visual responses
The head of the company also spoke about the two other features that the photo-sharing platform announced earlier this week, Instagram Playback and Reels Visual Replies. The option for visible responses is available while posting a reply to a comment. You can select it to create a response to the video and the comment will appear as a sticker.
Mosseri recommended that creators use the feature to engage with followers and increase their follower base.
