The company’s largest passenger car maker, Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), said on Saturday that production at its Haryana plants, will be affected in November due to a shortfall in semiconductor supply.
The company said its contract manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited (SMG) in Gujarat, would also be affected by the same issue.
“Due to supply constraints for electronic components due to the semiconductor shortage situation, the company expects a negative impact on vehicle production in November in both Haryana and its manufacturing subsidiary SMG in Gujarat,” the company said in a statement. Save BSE.
“Although the situation is very dynamic, it is currently estimated that the total volume of vehicle production across both locations could be around 85 percent of normal production,” MSIL added.
The company had limited its production over the past month as well, seeing a 51 percent drop in its production cycle.
