The Odisha government has decided to reopen the physical classes for Standard 11 and 8 from October 21 and October 25 respectively, said Minister for School and Mass Education Sameer Ranjan Dash on Friday.

“We will have a meeting with the District Education Officials (DEOs) on this matter tomorrow and instruct them to begin preparations for the start of classes for grade 8 and 11 students,” Dash said.

“Guidelines issued for grades nine, ten and twelve, schools will adhere to the same guidelines and protocols after grades 8 and 11 reopen,” Dash added.

The Odisha government has decided to reopen schools for class 10 and 12 students from 26 July.

Prior to reopening schools for grades 10 and 12, the government decided to vaccinate all teachers against COVID-19 as a priority and district education officials were directed to ensure COVID guidelines are followed.
