The public sector lender of India reported a fraud of Rs 266.73 crore to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), it said in a regulatory filing on Saturday.

The bank reported three non-functioning accounts as fraudulent.

It said in the filing that it detailed the non-functioning accounts (NPAs) as they were declared fraud and reported to the RBI in accordance with regulatory requirements.

The fraudulent nature of all three accounts was identified as a “money transfer”.

The lender has declared MP Border Checkpost Development Co Ltd as fraud with an amount of Rs 166.89 crore, Pune Sholapur Road development with a total sum of Rs 72.76 crore and SONAC with an amount of Rs 27.08 crore.

The Bank further specified that as of September 30, 2021 it has held a provision of Rs 12.58 crore against SONAC.

In the case of MP Border Checkpost Development Co and Pune Sholapur Road Development, retained provisions were equal to full exposure, respectively.
