The number of Omikron cases in Telangana rose to 20 with 12 more people tested for the novel coronavirus on Saturday. The state health department bulletin said.
Samples from three people are awaited for Omicron variant status. Meanwhile, Telangana today recorded 185 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the number to 679,430, while the death toll rose to 4,014 with one more death.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had the highest number of cases with 78, followed by Medshall Malagiri district (15), the bulletin said, with details being provided as of 5.30pm today. The number of recoveries exceeded the number of new cases, as 205 people recovered from the infectious disease.
The bulletin said that the cumulative number of recoveries so far reached 6,71,655 cases, the number of active cases reached 3,761 cases 41,484 samples were tested today and the total number tested so far reached 2,92,59,376 samples tested per million. The population was 7,86,119.
