Another 44,932 people in Britain tested positive for Covid-19 as the country recorded more than 40,000 cases of Covid-19 on the third day in a row, according to official figures released on Friday.
This brings the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 8,361,651. The number of deaths related to the Corona virus in the country increased by 145 to 138,379 deaths. And these numbers only include the deaths of people who died within 28 days of their first positive test, Xinhua reported.
There are currently 7,086 patients in hospital with COVID-19.
The data came as the National Health Service (NHS) testing and tracking estimated that 400,000 coronavirus test samples were processed through the Immensa Health Clinic lab in Wolverhampton, and 43,000 people may have had incorrect results between September 8 and October 12.
An investigation was conducted into reports of subjects who received negative PCR test results after previously testing positive for a collateral flow device.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said most of them were in southwest England.
The latest figures showed that more than 85 per cent of people aged 12 or over in Britain had received the first dose of the vaccine, and more than 78 per cent had received both.
