India’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Gyetri Issar Kumar, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United Kingdom comes at a time when bilateral relations between India and the United Kingdom are on a positive path and may be on the threshold of a new era.

Modi will attend the World Leaders Summit (WLS) of the United Nations COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, where he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his British counterpart Boris Johnson on the sidelines of the summit, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

India’s envoy in Britain noted that in preparation for bilateral engagement, discussions had made progress on a whole range of issues from consular relations to maritime and space security as well as cooperation in the United Nations and other multilateral forums. Kumar said the partnership between India and the UK is on a very positive trajectory, potentially on the threshold of a new era.
