The BJP attacked farmers’ leaders over the execution of a man near a protest site in Kundli, and said on Friday that the “anarchists” behind these protests should be exposed as they are doing great harm to the nation. The body of the man, whose hand had been cut off, was found bound to a metal barrier in Sonipat district of Haryana on Friday.
In a video that went viral on social media platforms, some members of the Nihangs are seen standing while the man lies on the ground in a pool of blood with his severed hand lying next to him. Confronting farmers union leader Rakesh Teket and political activist Yogendra Yadav, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya said in a tweet that Teket did not justify the killing of the mob in Lakhimpur, while Yadav was sitting next to him, observing hypocritical silence, “It would not have happened to the youth on The limits of the Kundali. The anarchists behind these protests must be revealed in the name of the farmers.”
Strongly condemning the incident, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said it was a horrific murder. And this is not the job of farmers, who will sacrifice their lives for other citizens. “Professional protesters who disguise themselves as farmers are doing great harm to the nation. Those who take the life of an innocent man, rape women, insult tricolors and justify killing citizens in reaction to this action cannot be described as farmers,” Bhatia said as he demanded stern action against the perpetrators. Police said Deceased Lakhbir Singh, a worker from Tarn Taran in Punjab, aged about 35. The farmers protest site is located near the Delhi-Haryana border in Singu. The farmers have been protesting three agricultural laws of the center at the site for more than 10 months.
