The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit at BSF Border Out Post Ramnagar was activated when they got information regarding a possible human smuggling attempt in the area on Sunday.

Bahraini security forces and the anti-trafficking team closed the international borders and began search operations along the border. They found three Bengali nationals hiding inside a banana orchard and started running towards the Bangladeshi side. During the chase, BSF seized a woman from Bangladesh.

The woman revealed her identity as Shelby Begum, 27, the wife of Jasim Halder, from Nanadpara, in the Barizal district of Bangladesh.

Shelby Begum said she was working at the Sirajganj Fashion Garment in Dhaka where Reba Begum, a resident of Bangalore, met her husband after she arrived illegally in India. Shelby paid money to promote kosher and Ripa arranged for Shelby to come to India.

The Anti-Trafficking Unit found that Reba Begum was running a human smuggling operation from Bengaluru with the help of kosher. They lured many young girls from Bangladesh with jobs and then pushed them into prostitution when they arrived in Bengaluru. Kosher is the older brother of Reba’s husband and he resides in Bangladesh.
