The Collegium of the Supreme Court recommended the transfer of two Supreme Court justices. While Patna High Court Judge Justice Birendra Kumar was transferred to Rajasthan High Court, Justice Satish Kumar Sharma was transferred from Rajasthan High Court to Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The Collegium, chaired by Nevada Chief Justice Ramana at a meeting on October 28, 2021, made the decision and the decision was uploaded to the Supreme Court website on Friday. Judge Kumar held the position of Registrar General of the Patna High Court from 2011 to 2014. Prior to his promotion, he was appointed as District Judge and Patna Court Sessions. Promoted as Additional Justice in the Patna High Court on 16 November 2016.

Justice Sharma was promoted to a judge of the Rajasthan High Court on March 6, 2020. Along with Ramana, Justices UU Lalit and AM Khanwilkar are part of the three-member Collegium which takes decisions in relation to the judges of the High Court.
