A man killed a 23-year-old woman, who was known to him, with a pistol and then shot himself in Greater Noida district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, according to police. Police said the accident occurred in Dadri district in the afternoon and the 25-year-old man, who survived the gunshot wound, is undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Vishal Pandey said both were known to each other as they had resided in the same neighborhood previously, but had been living in different areas for some time. “On Tuesday afternoon, the woman had gone out of her house to a pharmacy with her younger sister. They were going home after buying some medicine when the man met them on the railroad. He called the woman but she ignored and kept on moving after which the man took out his gun and shot her. “.
“He quickly shot himself,” the officer said. “The police were alerted and both were rushed to a local hospital, where doctors declared the woman dead. The man was referred to the district hospital.” He said autopsy procedures for the woman are underway, adding that the police are investigating the incident from all angles.
