The National Committee for the Protection of Child Rights on Thursday issued a notice to the Delhi government over a complaint about a promotional video featuring high school students.
The Supreme Committee on the Rights of the Child said the video, in which Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal can be seen with large gatherings of school children without wearing a mask and avoiding social distancing, shows clear violations of Covid protocols and puts the lives of underage schoolchildren at risk.
The commission said it had received the complaint from the national organizer of the Odisha-based Kalinga Rights Forum, and that the videos violated the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and COVID-19 protocols.
“Accordingly, the Commission has taken note of this matter under Section 1 (1) (1) of the CPCR Act 2005,” and requested the Government to consider the question of remedial measures and to share the report of the action taken within seven years. days.
