One person was killed in a fire that broke out in a settlement in Nadia district of West Bengal on Sunday, officials said. They said the accident occurred in the Nakachibara district, where three fire tenders had been putting out the flames for more than an hour in the densely populated area.
They added that the charred body of a person believed to be a warehouse worker was found. Officials said that barrels of diesel and kerosene were stored in the warehouse.
They said the cause of the fire was not yet clear.
