One man was killed and 30 others injured, including 10 seriously, when a truck carrying migrant workers crashed into a roadside tree in Palamu district of Jharkhand on Friday, police said. The accident occurred near Marghatia village in Satparwa police station area when workers from Kamaru were heading to Daltunganj railway station to take a train to Uttar Pradesh, where they work in brick kilns, said officer in charge Karmbal Kumar Nag.

He said the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree next to Medinagar-Ranchi road. The injured were taken to a hospital in Tumbagada, where doctors referred 10 of them to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi for better treatment, while a man identified as Birendra Oraun succumbed to his injuries on the way to the state capital Nag. added.
