Police said the Assistant Attorney General of Dhanbad Court was found dead in her apartment in Manoram Nagar district on Saturday. They said the body of Arnima Babita Means, 38, was recovered from the apartment after her neighbors alerted police in the afternoon. Chief Inspector of Police Sanjeev Kumar said Mainz was left alone in her apartment and added that an investigation was underway.
She was taken to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital in Saridela, where doctors declared her dead, according to the Social Health Program. Anil Kumar Singh, who is in charge of the Assistant Public Prosecutors of Dhanbad Court, said Means was seen at the courthouse on Friday and all seemed normal.
Her body was sent for an autopsy. In July, an additional 49-year-old judge and hearing judge in Dhanbad was allegedly ousted by a motorized rickshaw. The Iraqi Central Bureau, which took over the investigation into his death in August, filed the indictment on October 20.
