The Navi Mumbai police have arrested three notorious criminals wanted in connection with the shooting in West Bengal from Banvel, an official said, Saturday. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted sweeps in Banvel over the past two days and arrested Shabir Ghulam Rasoul Grammy (35), Rabiul Kokun Grammy (43) and Nur Alam Mjifull Esmal Mondal (21), Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Bipin. The three were arrested in connection with the murder of Muzaffal Haq Mandal (40), who was stabbed and shot dead in the Birrhat district of West Bengal on October 7. The police recorded an offense under Section 302 (murder) and other related provisions. of the IPC and the Indian Arms Act at the time, he said. The official said the Navi Mumbai police and their counterparts from West Bengal had carried out sweeps and focused on the wanted suspects. He added that the West Bengal State Court had issued a permanent warrant in the name of Rabiul against whom a number of serious crimes had been registered.
