The bodies of two people, who went missing after a landslide triggered by torrential rains in Chamoli district on October 19, were found, bringing the cumulative number of rain-related accidents in Uttarakhand to 79. A short distance from their village on Thursday, officials said.

They said the two had gone to repair a drinking water pipeline near their village when they were buried under the wreckage of the landslide. They were identified as 48-year-old Bharat Singh Negi and 33-year-old Virendra Singh, who were residents of Dongri village.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dami met their relatives in the village recently to get in touch with them.
