Week 7 Waiver Wire: Top Picks

Dak Prescott injury update

Prescott injured his calf in his last game in Week 6, but said he could have played in it if he had to. He was seen wearing his walking shoes after the match, but the idea was just a precaution. Prescott Keep doubling down on the idea that he’s fine And that he’ll be ready to go after week seven of the Cowboys, so we’re not worried about his situation. It is clear that setbacks and new developments can occur, so we will continue to monitor its status.

The good news is that he will have plenty of time to recover. If his problem persists, Cooper Rush will presumably take Prescott’s place, which will have a major (negative) impact on other Dallas playmakers.

Baker Mayfield injury update

Mayfield (left shoulder) was already dealing with a partially torn labrum and suffered an embarrassing fall to the uninjured shoulder in Week 6. He was sacked five times and was beaten and bruised throughout the match. After spending some time in the medical tent, he returned to play before being benched later after the game had already spiraled out of control against Arizona.

Standard Rankings for Week Seven:
Quarterback | running backwards | wide future | narrow end | D/ST | kicker

We tend to think he’d be ready to go Thursday night against Denver (like Mayfield does himself), but it’s hard to expect that it will be close to full strength. He’s mostly done poor fantasy this year anyway, so he’s best suited for seats in all but the QB/superflex dual leagues. We ranked him as QB22 for Week 7. To put that in perspective, he is only ahead of Geno Smith, Zach Wilson, Jared Goff and Davis Mills. With Justin Herbert, Dak Prescott and others in goodbye, start one of the other broadcasts we’ve outlined in our exemption pickups before considering Mayfield.
