Few teams play Thursday nights twice in one season. However, some quirks in the schedule, including Thanksgiving games and the season opener, allow the NFL to schedule some repeats on Thursday.

We’ll see one of those iterations in Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season. Thursday Night Football will once again feature the Super Bowl champions against the NFC East.

In the first week, the Buccaneers encountered a cowboy at home in Tampa Bay. This time, they will be the road team. They will head to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to face the Eagles.

Tom Brady will make his 305th regular season debut on Thursday. His opponent, Galen Hurts, will make his tenth start. Needless to say, Bucs will have an edge in the experience category.

Below is everything you need to know about the Thursday night game, plus everything you need to know to watch the first game of Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season.

Who’s playing Thursday Night Football tonight?

  • the match: pirates in eagles
  • LocationLincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Buccaneers travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles and open the sixth week of the 2021 NFL season. The Buccaneers are looking to win their third game in a row and have set a 4-1 record to start the campaign. Their only loss came to the Rams, another team that went 4-1.

Tampa Bay has an impressive attacking score of 33.4 points per game, which is good for a third in the NFL. The Eagles rank in the middle of the group defensively and allow 24.8 points per game. So, if they wanted to win, they would have to keep up with the pirate attack.

It won’t necessarily be easy. The Bucs have the best defense in the NFL and only allow 45.8 yards to dash per game. However, they do allow the league’s highest 314.4 yards to be scored per game, and that’s the strength of the Hurts and Eagles. Will they find enough success if they can’t run the ball? This is a question worth asking.

It’s also worth noting that Brady has a career record of 12-3 in Thursday night’s games. He is 5-2 in seven games against the Eagles.
