Ahead of a massive Week 8 game Thursday night with the Cardinals kicking off, Davante Adams’ availability is now seriously called into question. He was put on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday, and we’ve seen several players declare inactivity over the past two seasons for this reason. So, is Adams playing in Week 8? We’ll have the latest updates below, as well as how the fictional standings, takedown decisions, start and sit decisions, are affected by Adams’ potential absence.

We will continue to update this post with the latest news on Adams as more information comes in. For the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter Tweet embed.

Will Davante Adams play in Week 8?

To be available for the eighth week, Adams would have to take two negative tests 24 hours apart. Since the Packers play the Cardinals on Thursday night, it feels like more It’s unlikely that he’ll be able to do just that. This doesn’t mean it’s impossible, but Adams owners should be prepared with a backup plan. This is undoubtedly a huge hit in the fantasy lineups, as Adams has been a first-round pick in the drafts and is one of the top three in WR in fantasy this season.

Standard Rankings for Week 8:

In his presumed absence, Allen Lazard and Randall Cope will likely be WRs #1 and #2 for Aaron Rodgers. There has been no hype around the return of Marques Valdes-Scantling (hamstring), so we’ll assume he won’t be out of IR this week. We moved Lazard to a marginal WR2 arrangement, but truth be told, his roof is high but his floor is low. It’s hard to know how the target competition will turn out. The talent gap between Adams and any other WR in the Packers is an astronomical one, so we can’t expect any of them to come close to the number of goals he does week and week.

However, the ball has to go somewhere – and one of the best QBs ever is to throw it – so Lazard and Cobb have a flexible value, at least. Your best bet might be to grab someone we’ve identified in our Best 8 Week Waiver Pickups unless you already have depth in the position.

Players can choose to run more or use more TEs and RBs in a scrolling game. Either way, Rodgers drops a few points and is squarely in the starting bubble, and Robert Tonian is a bit volatile to be trusted in most tournaments.
