Scotsman William Borland outmaneuvered Bradley Brooks in the first round of the World Darts Championships with this amazing nine-four-fours tournament!
Scotsman William Borland made exciting history for darts at the World Championships by winning the first round of the match by scoring nine darts in his debut.
Borland, of East Caulder, produced a story ending with his match when he outplayed fellow young Bradley Brooks in a sharp tungsten fray.
World number two Peter Wright began his quest for a second Ally Pally title in three years with a victory over Ryan Meikle, while legendary Paul Lim withdrew after suffering a painful defeat to Joe Murnan.

Borland gave his thoughts after throwing his Lord Nine to defeat Brooks
In a first-round match, Brooks averaged 112.73 in cleaning all three legs of the opening set without a response.

And his opponent, Borland, pulled 92 points to win the second set 3-1 and tied in an interesting match. The first two sets lasted just under 12 minutes.

The third set came to an end and it was “Big Willie” who delivered a superb 13-arrow hit to turn the match around.
Borland completed another 13 breakout throws at the start of the fourth inning before dropping in a delightful 148 to move within the winning stage.

Brooks produces amazing skin care 134 to keep his hopes up
‘Bam Bam’ responded with a comment before breaking into the next leg with an outrageous 134 (T17, T17, D16). He forced a decisive set with a neat 98 exit to delight a raucous crowd.
The 25-year-old Borland came back with a 130-on-goal score to come close to winning, but Brooks wasn’t going to lie down and sent the competition all the way to the leg of sudden death.
A great game was given a dream come to an end when Borland landed 180, 177 and 144 out leg nines to win it in style.

Heavy Metal will face Ryan Searle in the second round next Wednesday afternoon in what should be another classic.
Borland became the eleventh player to join the nine-darts club at Worlds, along with Raymond van Barneveld’s double to Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwin as well as Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis in the 2011 final.

Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright was in the Christmas spirit in North London on Friday night
Wright kicked off his World Championship bid with a fixed-edge display of arrows against Ipswich’s “Barber”, easing the first set before clinching the second 3-1 to double his lead.
He quickly completed his job with a drama-free performance to sail into the third round.
The legendary Lim, who turns 68 next month, made his 14th appearance at the PDC World Championships, and “The Singapore Slinger” made a strong start against Murnan with a superb 118 finish in the first leg before catching the throwback in the second leg to rule the match. The first group.
Lim, who first played in the 1982 World Championships at the Jollees Cabaret Club in Stoke-on-Trent, was still producing some excellent tungsten on the big stage, 39 years later. But his form abandoned him in the second set and Mornan took the opportunity to raise the level.

Ally Pally’s audience was sent into a frenzy by the impulsive legend, Lim, who shot at full speed before knocking out the 118 on top.
The next two sets were shared before Lancashire pitcher Mornan topped the tops with his sixth darts in the match to stumble over the finish line.
